Will season tickets soon be dead? @darrenrovell1 explores (via @pensinger)

Darren Rovell of CNBC tackles an interesting question... are pro sports slowly killing the season ticket? USA Today had a cover story feature last week on the pros (and cons) of watching the NFL at home on the sofa v. attending in person. With innovations such as dynamic ticket pricing and forward markets (see MLB's playoff ticketing program), is there a demand, or even a need, to attend all 8 home NFL games (plus preseason) or 81 home MLB games each year.

I think college football (at major institutions) remains outside of these problems, merely because the inventory of games is so small (7-8 games at most and no preseason). (H/T to @pensinger for the link)
