Saw this linked to on the Sports Law Blog by Nathaniel Grow. Excellent article from Henry D. Fetter in the Atlantic on the role retiring Supreme Court Justice Stevens played in Congressional inquiries into Major League Baseball in the 1950s. By not acting in the 1951 hearing, Congress effectively gave the okay for baseball to proceed with its anti-trust exemption granted by the SCOTUS in 1922.
